Blizzard of 2008 !
Well.....so much for my "It's never gonna happen" line just 2 posts ago. Man what a storm!!! You have to understand that this storm dropped 20.5 inches of snow in Columbus. That is their greatest single storm EVER!!!!! The last one was 1910 and it was only 15.3 inches. Heck Saturday alone we had 15.5 inches. Their greatest 24 hour snow.
It was interesting as I listened to the forecast for this storm, the forecasters never got it right. How can you be inside of 2 days for a storm and not know the possibiity of 20 inches. I mean they were calling for 5-8 then it was 7-10 then within 24 hours they called for 10-12 and while it was going on they up'd it to 12-15. I mean how to you miss by 12-15 inches inside e a 48 hour forecast. I'll tell you how...... Models......
All people do is watch the models and then follow them like lemmings. If you actually studied the weather you could better understand how a storm could wrap up and give us 20 inches instead of say 7. The track of this will be interesting to see after all the data comes in. A shift 50 mi east or west and what we end up with is different.
Good to see the kids have fun playing out in the snow...!! Click on the picture to see some pics I took of it all.
Biggest snowfall they have ever seen and probably biggest for a long time.....
Course I did say a couple of days ago that we were done with the big snowstorms......
Hmm I must have been watching the models with them................
