Mechanic I am.......not....well maybe...

Did the first real work on my truck this passed weekend. Time to rotate the tires. Not a big deal to most. But hey.. I got to play and get my hands dirty....

So first I borrowed a couple of jacks and jack stands from my good friend CBS.

Then off to pull the truck into the garage and get this thing moving. Only problem is the jacks weren't tall enough to lift my truck off the ground. So I got to brake out the jack that came with the truck and break in it. So after getting that jack out, it was a breeze to lift the truck up, push the stands under, and swap each side out. I went ahead and did front to back and vice versa.

Seemed to go well. Got the lugs snug and away we go.

On Wednesday I got my Lite Rider Roll-Up Cover for the truck. Looks good and I think I'm gonna like it. I got it from Pickups Plus. One of the techs asked me if I wanted anymore performance for the truck that I could buy a SCT computer for only $300. More power and MPG. Well for $300, I'll take my chances for now. I mean hey, I just spent a couple hundred $$$ for a cover that should get me maybe 1 mpg.... So that will take me a while to pay for itself..... Course I didn't buy it to get better mpg, that is just a good benefit. But time will tell if it actually works of not. I think it will give me some.....

I have been trying to fill up when I get to half-empty to not make it so painful when I go.

Ugh.... not this time.........

At the end the pump said "Cashier has Receipt"..... Uh... they can have it.... !!! :)

Empty truck tank + @!%%$^% gas prices = $100

ScribeFire and Blogger

I have been recently using the ScribeFire add-on for FireFox to easily blog. But when I had my machine reloaded I forgot to bring over my settings for FireFox. So I had to setup my ScribeFire account again. Since I have my own domain name registered and not a xxx.blogspot.com address, since I use Blogger to get to manage my site, you have to change the Blogger API Url string to get the feed to go to your site correctly. It is a simple line.

http://www.blogger.com/feeds/blogID/posts/default

All you have to do is replace the "blogID" section with your blogger ID. To find this, simply view the source of your main page and look for the line of
"rel="EditURI" type="application/rsd+xml" title="RSD"
href="http://www.blogger.com/rsd.g?blogID=XXXXXXXXX"

And read the blogID section... that is your Blog number in Bloggers system.
Put that ID in the above line and you should be good to go.
